About Consolata Mission Centre - Bunju (CMC)

Consolata Mission Centre (CMC) BUNJU
Report for regional Conference 2024

Introduction
The Consolata Mission Centre (CMC) has a long history. It dates back to the Regional Conference of 1994, when it was decided to build a Mission Animation Centre in Iringa. The project did not go through.
The Canonical Visitation of 2003, in line with the suggestions of the General Chapters, advised to have such a Centre. A committee ad hoc was created to study its feasibility, location, finality, etc. The goals of CMC were stipulated and have been reviewed now and then as follows:

MISSION, VISION AND VALUES OF CMC
DHAMIRA/UTUME (MISSION): Consolata Mission Centre is a missionary instrument of the church, owned and directed by Consolata Missionaries with the aim of:
• Helping the local church grow in the missionary dimension ad gentes
• Helping the local church to strengthen and deepen its faith. What the Bishops call: Deeper evangelization, (Uinjilishaji wa kina) giving extraordinary formation to catechists, and other lay people especially the junior and senior youth
• Doing Missionary and vocational animation
• Publishing information about missions, and formation to the various areas related to the Mission ad gentes: Justice and peace and harmony of creation, inculturation, interreligious dialogue, ecumenism, etc.
• Facilitating retreats, workshops and seminars, and offering services to groups with well-defined programs that go in line with our general vision and provide a convenient environment for seminars, retreats and workshops, and use our facilities.

DIRA (VISION): To create a hospitable, serene and convenient environment for deep processes of Christian, missionary and human formation, in a professional and competent way.

-   “Il bene va fatto bene”, “The Good Must be Done Well” Bl. Allamano

- Faith
- Hope
- Love
- Compassion
- Integrity
- Growth
- Family Spirit

To achieve such aims various programs and activities are planned yearly:
• The publication of the missionary magazine Enendeni.
• Seminars, workshops, spiritual exercises, special celebrations;
• Our programs are especially destined for the youth and the catechists, and the participation in both is commendable. There is still a lot of room to diversify and improve the seminars, for greater effectiveness as a means of evangelization and for the benefit of the participants. Most of our programs are a service to the local church and also others proper to our evangelization and animation purposes.
• Although a fee is charged for participation, they are not aimed at any profit.
• The Centre is open for the greater part of the year for groups that come with well-defined programs, who at a fee enjoy our accommodation, meals and conference facilities.
• Individuals or small groups are accepted wherever possible.

1. The Community
At the present time the community members are as follows:
Madeje P. Paulino Joseph
Mille P. Michael Paschal
Inverardi P. Giuseppe
Opiyo P. Matthew Ouma
Although every one exercises a particular ministry, the team of the
Centre is one, and all the activities are planned and implemented together.

2. Community life and some expressions
• We can describe our community as intercultural and homogenous, making of our differences a source of richness. There is good family atmosphere and mutual/ fraternal acceptance.
• There is constant and open communication between the members, with frequent community meetings
• The community of CMC lives with great interest and love for the Institute and Region. Towards the visitors and participants of our programs at the Centre, we strive to exercise ‘Ukarimu’ generosity through cordiality, gentleness and attention.

3. Centre activities and pastoral help
• The activities of the Centre are planned by the director but revised and approved by the whole community. Everyone is available to help, collaborate and substitute in the execution of the yearly program
• The activities planned by the Centre are given priority above all others.
• If and when possible, we help out in the parishes on Sunday.
